Meet Himani Bhardwaj

Principal Attorney, a first-generation immigrant like you

At HBM Law Offices, LLC, we help families navigate the U.S. immigration process with clarity, compassion, and proven strategy. Based in West Des Moines, Iowa, we represent clients nationwide and across the world, guiding them through family-based green cards, waivers, naturalization, VAWA, consular processing, and prior denials.

Attorney Himani is a first-generation immigrant who came to the U.S. as an international student, later adjusted her status, and ultimately naturalized. She has also been an immigrant many times as both a child and an adult, having lived in India, Thailand, Argentina, and Singapore. These experiences give her a deep understanding of the uncertainty, challenges, and resilience that define the immigrant journey and inspire her commitment to helping foreign nationals succeed.

Her global perspective was further shaped by her work in Oaxaca, Mexico, and in Suleymaniya, Iraq, with the International Human Rights Law Institute, funded by the U.S. Department of State, where she focused on Iraqi law school curriculum reform, Iraqi women empowerment and access to the legal field initiatives, and advocating for communal property rights for indigenous communities in Oaxaca.

Attorney Himani holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. She’s admitted to practice in Illinois and received special permission from the Iowa Supreme Court to practice immigration and nationality law in Iowa, allowing me to serve clients nationwide. Since founding HBM in 2012, she has built a high-touch, results-driven, client-centered practice that brings on a select number of cases per month, ensuring every client receives the attention, strategy, and care they deserve.

If HBM’s values resonate with yours, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Attorney Himani.  It would be our honor to guide you on your immigration journey.
