My husband and I worked with Himani and her paralegal, Chey, for my husband’s K1 fiance visa application and adjustment of status to receive conditional permanent residence. From start to finish, they did a phenomenal job. My husband and I both have extensive experience with traveling and the bureaucracy that surrounds visa applications, etc., but this was a whole different ball game – we quite literally could not have done this without them. Information that we found on government websites was confusing and sometimes contradictory, but Himani knows the ins and outs of the process, patiently and skillfully guiding us through and answering our many questions. We were abroad while we completed the application, and due to poor internet access and outdated browsers, we had some logistical issues using the HBM site to upload documents and fill out forms. However, Himani and Chey were more than willing to work with us to find alternate methods of communication, including email (very quick response time), mail, and international phone calls (often at odd hours of the night for them here in the States). The small size of the law firm means that they have more time to devote to each client, and they genuinely care about and get to know the people they’re working with. If you are trying to decide whether to hire a lawyer or just who to hire, I strongly recommend giving Himani a call – she does free phone consultations, so there’s really nothing to lose! My husband and I were extremely satisfied with our experience, and we plan to work with Himani and Chey again in the future to petition for my husband’s relatives.

I am very grateful that we came across HBM Law Offices, they went above and beyond on helping us with our particularly tough case. When we starting looking around for an immigration Lawyer nobody would give us the time of day, I was 19 and husband was 22, everybody thought we were to young to be thinking about this type of thing. Moving from Sydney Australia with 3 teenage kids and 2 cats was stressful enough for all of us including my fiancé.
The visa process began for us in 2021 on a Fiancé visa, it involved medicals, interviews and lots of paperwork, a lawyer and a lot of money. Being approved to move was scary but after being apart for 4 years due to covid and other reasons and being in a long distance relationship with my now husband for 13 years I was excited to start my life with him. However, the green card process proved just as stressful. We moved to the US in Dec 2024 and started planning our wedding. That was an emotional day to finally get to that point. We started the green card process soon after but unfortunately it got rejected because we didn’t send seperate cheques for each of our applications, so we returned them again only to have them rejected again due to lack of evidence with tax. We again resubmitted the forms to get rejected once again for tax. We resubmitted the same forms thinking they had gotten lost in the mail, but no we were now denied. This was crushing for us. I though they would deport us giving us 30 days to respond. We were desperate for help. That’s when we found Himani. We approached her and asked her if she could help. She was straight into doing a video call to get our story and to see how she could help. She could see I was stressed out and scared and her reassurance that everything would be ok was a weight lifted. She began on reapplying and submitted the correct paperwork we needed straight away. She is very thorough and empathetic while being reasonably priced. She makes submitting necessary paper work to her firm easy and she responds back in a timely manner. We ended up having to do Biometrics and medicals again and then one last interview. However, that wasn’t the end. They required yet more information. Himani was quick with responding which led to us finally getting our green cards a few months later. The system is slow and gruelling but If you have a lawyer like Himani she will take all the stress away. I highly recommend anyone using her firm. She is efficient and doesn’t overcharge. After I filed my N-400 application for naturalization online, I realized that I made a few mistakes on the form. I emailed HBM for a consultation and was able to meet with Himani very quickly.

It was a multi-year journey, starting with the I-129F fiancée petition, then the K-1 interview down in Brazil, followed by filing for adjustment of status (green card), and culminating with the green card interview. Himani has been FANTASTIC solving my immigration case. I spoke with other lawyers before I was able to find Himani but none of them made me feel more welcomed and more hopeful than Himani. Other lawyers told me to look elsewhere as they were afraid to handle my case and wished me “good luck”. Himani, on the other side, took time to hear more about me and helped me get my green card! I knew that Himani would be a great attorney for me because three years prior, she had helped my brother go from DACA status to permanent residency status. I was not wrong in the fact that she was the best attorney I could have hired. She was with my husband and I every step of the way. Himani and Chey provided exceptional service and unlimited hours of consultation. They are fully devoted to their clients and extremely knowledgeable. My case was pretty difficult as it was my second time applying for immigration (same-sex adjustment of status) and they submitted my case so strong that my interview was easy. Himani and her group are absolutely everything that clients look for in a lawyer. They evaluated our immigration case thoroughly, and told us exactly what we needed to do. They kept track of all our documents- the ones that were mentioned on the US immigration websites and also additional documents that strengthened our case. They did a great job of sending timely reminders to keep pushing the case along. We only had one in-person meeting with Himani and her team. I have been with my fiance for 3 years when we started filing the application. Though I believe we had a lot of good evidence to support our marriage, Himani was a huge help. Himani was really professional and clear. She is definitely trust worthy. We basically could contact her any time and she would always get back to us in less than 24 hours (either by phone or email). Though our case was really strong, I was insecure and asked LOTS of questions, Himani was always professional and helpful. If you’re looking for help with your imagination papers Hamani and Chey are the best. They have been with me every step of the way, answering my many emails and questions even on weekends and holidays. A few years back I had a really bad experience with an immigration lawyer, my Resident card was about to expire and my mother who was in Canada was diagnosed with Terminal cancer. I went to an immigration lawyer for help to try to just get my citizenship papers instead of a Resident card renewal. The paralegal left my paperwork on his desk for months after I had requested this be done quickly due to family emergency. After I became aware, I spoke to the lawyer in charge and he didn’t do much in the way of being helpful. Long story short I lost money and had to apply for another Resident Card. I was very afraid to go through that process again with another lawyer, but when I called Hamani, she was very helpful and compassionate. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to go through the process again as now my Husband is a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran and I am also on disability. Hamani took time to explain the process and Asked me questions about my previous experience. She was very understanding of my situation and told me if I would like to try again she would help me get it right this time and even offed to do it pro bono. I am very thankful to both Hamani and Chey. They made the process easy and because of them having me fully prepared, I passed my citizenship Interview today and just have to wait for the ceremony and I will be an American. We learned about this small firm through an acquaintance and we were extremely pleased with the service. We started working with Himani and Chey around October, 2016. My fiance was in the navy, stationed in the US, and I was in Seoul, Korea. Through her services, we got a fiance visa, which allowed us to finally be reunited.
